This journey takes us from the prairies up to the Badlands, then heading South via the “Kananaskis” towards the USA border, entering Waterton Lakes National Park. From there we continue our journey on a scenic road trip through Kootenay National Park . We will visit and even stay at some of the most beautiful lakes on earth, get pampered in the Natural Hot Springs that are used for centuries by the First Nations due to the nice and warm temperature and the healthy & healing aspects of the minerals in the water. Our tour will end in Vancouver where you can either choose to stay in the city, and/or departure on a cruise or flight to your next destination.

Day 1: Calgary – Kananaskis
In the morning we are leaving from  Calgary and drive up to the Canadian Badlands, a region that is quite similar to Badlands National Park in South Dakota, USA, only this Canadian one is about two hours northeast of Calgary. This is the home where the dinosaurs roamed and where we learn all about the cretaceous period while visiting the visit the Royal Tyrell Museum. From there we go South and drive into the Kananaskis where we check in to our accommodation for one night.

Day 2: Kananaskis – Waterton Lakes National Park
Today it’s time to continue our journey to the South, towards the USA border, where Waterton Lakes National Park is located. On our way there are a few sightseeing stops like the interpretive center at the Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, a UNESCO World Heritage site, used by the indigenous people for over 5,500 years. Further South it goes into Waterton Lake National Park where we will check in at the Prince of Wales Hotel, a real retreat…

Day 3: Waterton Lakes National Park
Today is all about exploring the National Park when you go on a Waterton Shoreline Cruise and have the rest of the day to explore more at your own pace.

Day 4: Waterton Lakes National Parks

There’s a nice Waterton Lake Cruise that we’ve organized for you waiting! Go and enjoy the stunning surroundings and learn about the nature, wildlife and environment while cruising over the lake.

Day 5: Waterton Lakes National Park –  Ainsworth Hot Springs

We drive to the charming little town of Fernie first for a nice lunch break before we continue our journey to Ainsworth Hot Springs where you can relax and indulge in the Natural Hot Springs Pool, especially in the evening it’s a real “retreat” after a day of travelling and exploring.

Day 6: Ainsworth Hot Springs – Osoyoos
We continue our journey today from the Kootenays into the Thomson Okanagan region and more specifically, into Canada’s only desert. We will stay in a First Nation resort where you will learn all about the Indigenous history and traditions of the local and regional tribes. Also this region is very well known for there orchards and vineyards and their excellent wines. After check-in the rest of the day is at leisure and since the resort has a winery on their premises so why not go for some wine tasting?

Day 7: Osoyoos – Vancouver

Today we leave the Thomson Okanagan region to slowly make our towards the big and coastal city Vancouver.
